MERCANTILE INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY MEDICAL INSURANCE

(A) SCOPE OF COVER

Hospitalization and Medical expenses including: Surgeons, Physicians, Doctors & Anaesthetist fees, Operating Theatre & ICU charges, Diagnostic services, Physiotherapist's fees, Prescribed Drugs, Dressings, Surgical Appliances, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy.

Funeral expenses cover Kshs. 25,000 per person.

(B) TERRITORIAL LIMITS

KENYA - but this limit will not apply to any Insured person temporarily abroad and requiring in-patient treatment provided that the stay abroad does not exceed six weeks in any one period of insurance.

(C) ELIGIBILITY

Age 6 months to 65 years.

Family cover - Definition of Dependant: spouse, own children, legally adopted and foster children aged from 6 months to 21 years.

(D) COVER CONFIRMATION

Subject to acceptance of duly signed and completed proposal form along with two photographs and premium cheque. Attending doctor's medical report should be attached to the proposal, in case of any pre-existing condition.

(E) MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Principal members and spouses aged between 50 and 65 years should get the medical examination done at their cost from any of our panel doctors.

(F) WAITING PERIOD

For any hospitalization (except hospitalization due to accident), a waiting period of 60 days from inception of the cover (the waiting period can be waived with the proof of continuity of an earlier medical insurance cover).
